What are energy ratings? - Window Energy Ratings (WER) are a guide to the energy performance of your windows. The British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC) window energy rating scheme checks all the components to ensure the final window achieves the energy efficient standard claimed. This means that you just need to look for the A-G ratings and remember A is best – the higher the energy rating, the more energy efficient it is. Barong installs Energy 'A' Rated windows as standard.
The Spec - Barong’s slim line Kommerling O70 Eco-Energy range of windows and doors are completely lead free. The 5 chamber fully reinforced thermally efficient profile also has an extruded PCE low line gasket that will never shrink. Our windows and doors are internally beaded for high security and all opening sashes will have ‘easy clean’ fire hinges along with a multipoint locking system which far exceeds insurance expectations. Glazing will consist of 28mm sealed units made up with 4mm Planitherm Total, a 20mm argon gas filled cavity and 4mm float glass (toughened where necessary). We also use an Edgetech Super Spacer thermal bar; this is made of a dense foam material unlike metal-based spacers. The all foam construction of Super Spacer is non-conductive, blocking heat flow through the window. By blocking the heat escape path, Super Spacer provides one of the best thermal performances in the industry. Overall our sealed units have a U value of 1.0. The windows as a whole have an excellent 1.4 U value.
