The Spec - Barong’s slim line Kommerling O70 Eco-Energy range of windows and doors are completely lead free. The 5 chamber fully reinforced thermally efficient profile also has an extruded PCE low line gasket that will never shrink. Our windows and doors are internally beaded for high security and all opening sashes will have ‘easy clean’ fire hinges along with a multipoint locking system which far exceeds insurance expectations. Glazing will consist of 28mm sealed units made up with 4mm Planitherm Total, a 20mm argon gas filled cavity and 4mm float glass (toughened where necessary). We also use an Edgetech Super Spacer thermal bar; this is made of a dense foam material unlike metal-based spacers. The all foam construction of Super Spacer is non-conductive, blocking heat flow through the window. By blocking the heat escape path, Super Spacer provides one of the best thermal performances in the industry. Overall our sealed units have a U value of 1.0. The windows as a whole have an excellent 1.4 U value.
PLANITHERM is a new generation of energy saving window glass and the most energy efficient available. Its advanced coating technology reflects radiated heat back into the room, rather than allowing it to escape through the windows. At the same time, PLANITHERM allows free heat and light from the sun to pass through the glass. The result? – Lighter, brighter, warmer and more energy efficient homes thanks to the advanced thermal insulation of PLANITHERM which is 3 times more efficient than single glazed units and at least 25% more efficient than most currently installed double glazing.
Alternative to Timber Windows - Residence 9 is a luxury nine-chambered system that combines modern technology with traditional design, and looks exactly like a 19th century flush sash timber window. However it does not require the same amount of maintenance as a real wooden window. The nine-chambered profile and 44mm triple glazing enables the window to achieve one of the best energy ratings around. Which allows the Residence 9 window to not only look great, but also keep you cosy. With lots of features such as Flush Fitting Sashes, Transom Bars, woodgrain effect colours and range of handles in both traditional and contemporary styles, your windows can be tailored to match your exact requirements. Residence 9 systems are ideal for homeowners who are looking for period design and minimal upkeep. The slim sight lines only add to the appearance of a 19th century window, and allow the Residence 9 system to be considered for conservation areas. Meaning they’re also perfect for those living in properties with building restrictions.

The benefits of A rated double glazing - Reduced energy bills: energy efficient glazing could save you around £300 per year on your energy bills. A warmer, more comfortable home: energy efficient glazing reduces heat loss through windows and means fewer draughts and cold spots. A contribution to the environment: by using less fuel, you’ll generate less carbon dioxide (CO2) that leads to global warming. Peace and quiet: as well as keeping the heat in, energy efficient windows insulate your home better against unwanted outside noise. Energy efficient windows, when installed properly, can pay for themselves in lower heating and cooling costs over a period of years. Taken together with improved comfort and appearance, high performance windows from Barong are one investment every home can benefit from.
Replacement windows are a significant investment. An investment in time, money and the standard of your home. With windows installed from Barong, your home becomes a place of comfort and warmth that you’re proud of. Poorly chosen windows can spoil the look of your home and let in draughts, cold and noise. Around 20% of the heat escaping from any home is lost through its windows, so it pays in the long term to understand how to make the right window choice. Modern high-quality windows are efficient and durable, so you’re unlikely to upgrade often. That’s why, when you do decide to replace your windows, it’s worth installing windows with a high energy rating straight away.
What are energy ratings? - Window Energy Ratings (WER) are a guide to the energy performance of your windows. The British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC) window energy rating scheme checks all the components to ensure the final window achieves the energy efficient standard claimed. This means that you just need to look for the A-G ratings and remember A is best – the higher the energy rating, the more energy efficient it is. Barong installs Energy 'A' Rated windows as standard.
